This move coincided with the family-run company’s 20th anniversary and its 1,000th Hitachi sale (a ZX170W-5 wheeled excavator), landmarks celebrated at a special event in March.
Based in Brittany, Cobemat is a flagship dealer within HCME’s French network and is responsible for the distribution of Zaxis-5 excavators, ZW-5 wheeled loaders and Hitachi’s recently launched light compaction equipment (vibratory rammers, reversible vibratory plates and a walk-behind roller) in the regions of Brittany, Loire and Lower Normandy.
The company relocated to its new state-of-the-art premises at Servon-sur-Vilaine in January 2015. Ideally positioned next to the main highway between Rennes and Paris, the impressive site includes a new parts centre and a hi-tech workshop.
Complying with all health and safety regulations, the 700m² workshop includes advanced temperature and sound isolation, and a ventilation system to extract fumes. It is equipped with two cranes, automatic oil distribution equipment and the capacity for ten medium-sized excavators/wheeled loaders.
Cobemat currently employs 42 people at the new facility, of which 22 are dedicated technical personnel.
“Servicing Hitachi machines in the highest standard of working conditions is a priority for us,” says Cobemat owner Xavier Beaulieu.
“Our new technical facilities are not only first-rate, but the location and surroundings will also serve as a more pleasant environment for our customers to visit.”
Cobemat’s 20th anniversary celebrations offered the opportunity to invite customers to visit the new premises. Highlights included guided tours, a special awards ceremony, and a spectacular light show and drum performance in the grounds.
HCME President and CEO Moriaki Kadoya was one of the VIP guests at the event.
“Cobemat is one of our largest and most celebrated dealers in France. We have a developed a strong relationship over the past two decades, and the company’s excellent new facilities will help to ensure another period of success and close cooperation.”
