The Awards are organised by the non-profit Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction. With the appetite to tackle the alarming consequences of climate change growing, the foundation is calling on all future-makers – architects, urban planners, and engineers – to submit their projects for its global competition for sustainable design. The event is open for entries from February 6 until March 30 this year and offers total prize money of US$1m.
The competition is conducted across five regions: Europe, North America, Latin America, Middle East Africa, and Asia Pacific, and aims to uncover real-world projects that exemplify sustainable construction.
Entries will be evaluated according to their capacity to address the Foundation's goals for sustainable construction: Uplifting places; Healthy planet; Viable economics; and Thriving communities.
If you have a project that you believe meets the Holcim Awards competition criteria, or know of such projects in your network, the Holcim Foundation says it encourages you to register your interest now and to share this announcement.
