LafargeHolcim ends talks with PPC

LafargeHolcim has ended its ongoing talks with PPC (Pretoria Portland Cement) on a possible transaction first reported on October 27, 2017. PPC is a leading regional cement manufacturer with a major presence in southern and eastern Africa. Ireland’s CRH, the world’s third-largest building materials supplier by market value, has also decided not to bid for PPC, leaving the field clear for rival suitors.

Ireland’s 723 CRH, the world’s third-largest building materials supplier by market value, has also decided not to bid for PPC, leaving the field clear for rival suitors.

South Africa cement giant PPC names Roland van Wijnen as new CEO

South Africa’s largest cement maker PPC has named its next CEO with the appointment of Dutch-national Roland van Wijnen.

With 17 years of experience at LafargeHolcim, Van Wijnen was chosen following a global search, which kicked off in November 2018, to find the successor to Johan Claassen.
