QMS aims to continue delivering diverse products, solutions, and services through its extensive industry knowledge, innovation and exceptional engineering ability. Operating from an extensively purpose-built facility located in the heart of England and other UK locations, QMS has established a robust and efficient network for supporting customers across the globe. Through placing a premium on investment in its people, technologies, processes, and supplier partnerships, QMS continues to raise the bar in manufacturing excellence, delivering exceptional service and outstanding value.
An example of this operating philosophy, and one of QMS's latest upgrades, has been the development of its B4 modular cone crusher, which has already contributed to aggregate plant productivity and cost-effectiveness. "We understand the complexity of aggregate processing and the operational challenges our customers face on a daily basis. So we've spent years developing our range of processing equipment and machinery, purpose-built for the quarrying, mining, recycling and demolition industries. All our products are manufactured in-house and are fully warranted by QMS, being made and inspected in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standard (TUV register).
"One of our latest developments has been to our B4 cone crusher. This is now available in a modular form, which is benefitting companies across the globe. Furthermore, all QMS cone crushers are competitively priced and include lubrication and hydraulic systems, a control system with touch screen HMI, drive and guards and a support frame within the purchase price. Drive motor and mains electrical starter panels are offered as optional extras," explains QMS managing director Jonathan Beck.
The QMS B4 cone crushers are designed and manufactured to cope with some of the world's toughest aggregate applications. Designed, developed, and manufactured in the UK, they combine robust design and high performance. "A blend of high motor power, large eccentric throw and increased speed give QMS cones greater capacity than other crushers of comparable size. Their truly modern design creates excellent product shapes and can be configured to maximise the production of premium single-sized aggregates. The highly adaptable cones can be configured to suit a wide range of applications by selecting the correct crushing chamber and eccentric throw," adds Beck.
The QMS B-Series cone crushers also feature a novel hydraulic system which provides automatic overload protection by allowing the head assembly to drop, permitting the passage of tramp iron and other non-crushable material. The system then automatically returns the head assembly to its original position. The unique design of the hydraulic system means the crusher operates at a definite setting with less setting drift and greater stability throughout the circuit. The crusher setting is instantaneously maintained even after passing a piece of tramp iron.
The combination of the advanced B4 cone crusher with the electric power supply has successfully married productivity and accuracy with large operational savings for Perry Quarry Products. "The B4 modular cone crusher installation in County Down replaced a tracked cone crusher. Our solution has an electric drive powered by a diesel generator. We believe that the installation has been highly successful as (company owner) John Perry informs us that it is saving Perry Quarry Products £300 a day in diesel; on a five-day week, this is a huge saving of £78,000 a year," explains Beck.
Perry Quarry Products and its sister company, Kilkeel Concrete, have gained a reputation in Ireland for professional service and product excellence. The companies use the most modern and productive equipment to deliver the finest building aggregates, with all materials being quality tested and can be tailored to suit specific project requirements. All materials supplied are environmentally friendly and of the highest quality, with recycled aggregates highly suited to various applications, including landscaping and construction, with minimised waste and all materials reused and recycled.
