7482 BKT chairman and managing director Arvind Poddar is to be inducted into the Tire Industry Association’s (TIA) Hall of Fame.

The senior executive of the Indian global off-highway equipment tyre maker will be inducted into the TIA Hall of Fame during the Tyre Industry Honours Awards Ceremony event being staged at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel on 29 October 2018, one day before the opening of the 2018 SEMA Show, the leading automotive specialty and aftermarket fair, held in Las Vegas, USA.

Poddar was among a number of Hall of Fame honorees announced by Roy Littlefield, executive vice-president of the TIA. The Hall of Fame Award is the TIA’s highest honour and one of the most prestigious accolades of the world tyre industry.

BKT tyres on crowd-puller machines at Cologne tyre show

A giant dumper, seen for the first time seen at a trade show, and a tractor weighing 1,500kg, both made of Plexiglas, will be a crowd-puller at the 2018 edition of The Tire Cologne in Germany.

BKT and Kultevat’s R&D agreement to look at natural rubber alternatives

Looking at alternatives to natural rubber, off-highway tyre manufacturer BKT has entered into a joint research agreement with Kultevat, a US biotechnology company.
BKT is a global manufacturer based in India, while Kultevat specialises in green technology, and especially the extraction of high-quality dandelion rubber from Taraxacum kok-saghyz (Russian dandelion), or TKS, using an environmentally friendly process.
This is seen as a renewable and sustainable alternative for natural rubber.
