Cemex France invests in safety

Cemex France has announced that it is to upgrade its ready mixed concrete trucks and other fleet in a bid to improve safety. Under the plan more than a 1000 vehicles will be fitted with additional mirrors and rear view safety cameras to reduce blind spots. The company has said this will improve safety both on site and during transport of material to construction sites.

Lafarge Aggregates and Concrete has gone beyond the requirements of new UK legislation by fitting new blind spot mirrors to its entire road transport fleet. Under latest legislation, all new trucks must be fitted with front blind spot mirrors but Lafarge has opted to improve safety across the board by retro-fitting the mirrors to all its haulage fleet. The company has retrofitted the mirrors to around 250 aggregate and asphalt trucks and is liaising with hauliers to ensure a quick turnaround.

Ladders are gone... on the latest CEMEX ready-mixed truck

The latest innovation on a CEMEX ready-mixed concrete truck is the removal of the ladder and platform, so the driver no longer has to work at height, better ensuring their safety.
