Pakistan-based Dera Ghazi Khan Cement (DG Khan Cement) has recorded an 11% rise in its net profit in the April to June quarter of 2015 from PKR 2.02 billion (€17.06 million/US$19.35 million) in the same quarter in 2014, to PKR 2.25 billion.

The cement maker has registered an increase in its earnings per share in the quarter under review from PKR 4.61 previously, to PKR 5.14.

Net profit of Indonesia's Semen Baturaja (SMBR) stood at IDR 224.70 billion (€13.82 million/US$15.67 million) during January-August 2015, a climb of 27% from the corresponding period of 2014.

The main market of SMBR is Bengkulu, Jambi, Lampung and South Sumatra.

In the cited period, the demand for cement in South Sumatra expanded 4% year-on-year.

The squeeze-out translation of LafargeHolcim on the shares of Lafarge not yet held by the Franco-Swiss group has been presented to the Financial Market Authority (Autorité des marchés financiers) at a price of €60 per share.

On the reopening of the takeover bid on 31 July, 2015, LafargeHolcim held 96.41% of the capital and 95.35% of the voting rights of Lafarge.

Lafarge shares are re-listed from 15 September.

With a total of CNY 842 million (€118.80 million/US$132.46 million), 100% equity interest in Henan Yongan Cement (Yongan Cement) will be sold to China Tianrui Group Cement (Tianrui Cement) by China-based Tianrui Group.

The acquisition will be settled via the issuance of 520 million shares in Tianrui Cement to Tianrui Group.

Once the deal is completed, Tianrui Group's shareholdings in Tianrui Cement will rise to 73.93% from current 68.28%.

The price of a share to be issued is set at CNY 1.95.

A total of 68,560 units of Ras Al Khaimah Cement (RAK Cement) shares have been repurchased by the company for AED 0.83 per share (US$0.23).

The cement company plans to buy a remaining 45.6 million shares as part of its buy-back programme.

The repurchase has bumped RAK Cement's total number of treasury shares to 10.29 million.

Pakistan-based company Lucky Cement recorded an annual 3.9% increase in net sales from PKR 43.08 billion (€370.78 million/US$413.42 million) to PKR 44.76 billion in the year ended 30 June, 2015.

This was followed by 7% in local sales from 4.13 million tonnes to 4.42 million tonnes on a year-on-year basis.

In the year under review, Lucky Cement registered a 9.6% rise in net profit from PKR 11.34 billion to PKR 12.43 billion, followed by 15.68% in consolidated net profit to PKR 13.76 billion.

In the 2015 financial year, the net earnings of Pakistan-based Fauji Cement Company (FCCL) rose by 56.7% year-on-year to PKR 4.10 billion (€35.29 million/US$39.46 million) from PKR 2.6 billion due to a decline in finance costs and higher margins.

The revenues of the firm also rose 6.3% year-on-year to PKR 18.6 billion from PKR 17.5 billion.

The cement maker is a subsidiary of Fauji Group.
