Cummins appoints Jonathan Wood as vice president – components engineering

Jonathan Wood is the new vice president of Cummins’ components engineering division

410 Cummins, the U.S. global off-highway diesel engine manufacturer, has appointed Jonathan Wood as vice president – components engineering. As an officer, he will continue to lead all aspects of engineering for components along with his role as engineering functional leader for the Cummins Europe Area Business Organisation.

Wood previously served as executive director of research and engineering for Cummins Emission Solutions. He has also spent time as executive director of research and engineering for Cummins Turbo Technologies (CTT), director of Asia Engineering for CTT and has held various technical leadership roles in product engineering and programme leadership. During his career he has led product development programmes in high horsepower, heavy duty and the mid-range turbocharger product lines.

His technical oversight of our product development programmes globally for different emission levels is critical to our success,” said Tracy Embree, president Cummins components segment. “Thinking strategically and creating a clear and compelling vision for the future are two strengths that Jonathan possesses, which will continue to serve Cummins and our customers well.”

Wood has championed diversity and inclusion throughout his career and has helped to drive improvements in gender diversity in the European engineering teams. He holds a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, U.K. and is a chartered engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. Wood and his family reside in Huddersfield, England.
