The Trentin Group has used the DL420CVT-7-wheeled loader and its Transparent Bucket safety system at its Albaredo quarry, which specialises in gravel extraction.

The company wanted a new solution to support the continuous flow of gravel and milled material used in the asphalt production process. Trentin Ghaia extracts gravel material under the aquifer at Albaredo quarry, which is then subjected to a washing, screening and crushing process to obtain different sizes.

The gravel is then stored in piles divided according to grain size. Trentin Asfalti, in turn, uses this treated gravel to produce asphalt or satisfy third-party requests.

Trentin Asfalti's DL420CVT-7 wheeled loader plays a key role in the collection process as it works to collect treated gravel near the plant as well as milled or recycled asphalt.

The wheeled loader features a bucket load capacity of 4.5 m³ and low fuel consumption, making it ideal for this role in Trentin's production process.

"We are completely satisfied with our first Develon purchase. The opportunity to test the vehicle for a week and receive in-depth training on the use of the vehicle from the Develon demonstrator and trainer, Giuseppe Santo, was decisive in our choice. This has allowed us to fully evaluate the significant advantages offered by the loader for our needs in the quarry and understand its driving style," said Nicola Trentin, owner of Trentin Asfalti.

"In the first months of use, we were particularly convinced by the CVT transmission system, which guaranteed a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 25 per cent.

"This not only represents a significant economic saving for us, but also contributes to our commitment to reducing environmental pollution. In line with this objective, we have recently installed a one-megawatt floating photovoltaic system in the quarry, capable of providing 20 per cent of the energy needed, and we are evaluating further extending its use."

The DL420CVT-7 is equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), resulting from the permanent combination of hydraulic and mechanical transmission technology. Develon designed the CVT to ensure the engine is kept in the optimal operating range, which helps reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Frank Asiri, the operator of the DL420CVT-7, was impressed with the machine's performance on site. "I have been using the DL420CVT-7 loader for several months now and I can confirm my full satisfaction with both the excellent performance and the smooth and progressive driving, with the bucket always loaded. I particularly appreciate the cab equipped with advanced command and control systems, including the new electric joystick, directly integrated into the armrest," he said.

"The extremely wide view from the cab down to the ground is of vital importance, reducing blind spots to a minimum. This problem has been further solved thanks to the transparent bucket safety device, which even allows you to see beyond the bucket itself."

SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY

The company has equipped the DL420CVT-7 loader with a transparent bucket safety system that is exclusive to Develon.

According to the company, the system allows operators to view the machine uninhibited as if the bucket were not present.

It records images in front of the wheeled loader through cameras mounted high and low on the front and displays the combined images in real-time on the monitor in the cab.

According to Develon, the system improves safety and efficiency by providing a forward perspective view during loading and unloading.

Trentin Asfalti worked with Develon importer DMO to create the ideal combination of the DL420CVT-7 wheeled loader and the transparent bucket safety system.

DMO is the exclusive Develon importer for Emilia Romagna, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Lombardy, with a presence in the provinces of Milan, Cremona, Mantua, Lodi, Pavia, Varese, Monza and Brianza. In addition to its branches, DMO has authorised workshops in each province and mobile workshops capable of intervening directly on site.

"I am very grateful to the Develon Dealer, DMO, and in particular to Maurizio Mantovani, whose contribution was decisive in our purchase decision. His decision to allow us to test the machine, combined with his expertise and passion for Develon and its products, guided us towards the ideal solution for our needs," Trentin said.

"We are so satisfied that we are evaluating the purchase of other wheeled loaders also for our recently acquired Gradisca di Isonzo (GO) plant."
