7451 FLSmidth has signed an agreement to acquire the two Australian service companies MIE Enterprises and 6530 Mayer Bulk. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the transactions.

The two acquisitions will complement FLSmidth's regional customer services set-up with a highly-skilled workforce and full-service capabilities.

The key markets of the two companies are currently the Australian and South-East Asian mining industries.

6529 MIE Enterprises and Mayer Bulk provide construction, commissioning, maintenance and repair services.

MIE Enterprises serves the market for specialised mechanical services of high technical complexity, while Mayer Bulk’s specialist expertise is centred on the design of mobile machines, cranes and material handling structures.

"Combined with our current set-up and recent acquisition of Australian Ludowici these acquisitions further accelerate the development of FLSmidth's regional customer services capabilities, offering a combination of service footprint and skills, which makes FLSmidth one of the strongest service providers in Australia, while at the same time providing opportunities, through FLSmidth's global footprint, to expand the acquired new expertise to other markets where the FLSmidth Group is active," says group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen.
