Sarma project announces conference

Work to unite minerals planning policies across South Eastern Europe will be presented at the Sarma - Sustainable Aggregates Resource Management - conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia between 20 and 22 September. The EU-funded project (see interview: Joined up planning, ABE Jan/Feb 2010) aimed to help unite cross border planning on a local, national and international level and presentation of the findings at the conference marks the conclusion of the €1.9million scheme.

Work to unite minerals planning policies across South Eastern Europe will be presented at the Sarma - Sustainable Aggregates Resource Management - conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia between 20 and 22 September.

The EU-funded project (see interview: Joined up planning, ABE Jan/Feb 2010) aimed to help unite cross border planning on a local, national and international level and presentation of the findings at the conference marks the conclusion of the €1.9million scheme.

Organisers have said that this conference will bring together all stakeholders linked to sustainable management of mineral resources from researchers, public and private sector representatives and non-governmental through to environmental associations and societies.
