To further improve the standard of service it offers its clients,
Originally formed to support businesses operating within the minerals industry, the MPA now comprises of over 480 businesses, including many of the country’s independent SME quarrying firms, and nine, major global organisations.
The association has become regarded for its success in representing members’ interests concerning relevant policies, planning and technical matters, and can, when required, represent its members at governmental, local and professional levels; both nationally and within Europe.
Now operating as one of the MPA’s most recent recruits, UPS has joined the organisation as an industry associate. The new association will enable UPS to stay better informed and updated regarding essential industry information and relevant changes to legislation, while also presenting a platform for the company to have its own subjects raised and discussed.
United Plant Services has been in operation for over 25 years, providing a nationwide network of plant machinery engineering teams from two major hubs in the north and midlands.
Capable of maintaining and servicing all brands and models, the firm’s reputation for providing the skills of knowledgeable engineers, together with tailored contracts specifically designed to meet the needs of each client, has developed over recent years.
A desire to further company growth and add to UPS’s existing portfolio of attributes has led to the pursuit of additional capabilities, including this latest association with MPA.
Commenting on its membership Gordon Dick, national business development manager at UPS, explains: “At UPS, we provide essential plant machinery services and build solid relationships with clients’ whose business successes are often reliant on working effectively and legally within these challenging industries.
“Fast changing legislation can affect their businesses as well as ours, so by being part of an association such as the MPA, we are better positioned to perform our own practice appropriately, while ensuring it also conforms with our clients.
“Furthermore, by having an improved understanding of the issues affecting our industry, and with the support of the MPA, we’re able to influence the direction of matters relevant to the services we provide.”
Gordon goes on to explain how, by harnessing the expertise of a team of experienced professionals constantly on call to MPA members, UPS can offer an even better service.
“At UPS, we never underestimate how effective and productive the right relationships can be. Whether that’s the relationship formed and maintained with a valued client, or the enhancing association of a supportive and knowledgeable affiliate.
“By investing in, and learning from our relationship with one partner, we’re able to improve our service to the other, and heighten client service standards by being a more informed provider.
“MPA believes that together, members can become stronger forces than individually, and that by accessing its services, which focus on influence and participation; professional support and advice; information and statistics; events and networking; and standards and best practice, members can benefit from the expertise of other MPA family members.”
Gordon concludes by expressing how positively he and his team feel about the decision to become part of the MPA: “I’ve every confidence that bringing this positive relationship into the UPS business strategy will add tremendously to an already proficient portfolio of services, and we keenly anticipate extending our new capabilities to existing and future clients.”
