The Philippines construction industry will grow by 12.5% in real terms in 2017 and a further 11.7% in 2018 on the back of the government’s ambitious infrastructure development plans, according to a BMI Research market report released last month. For Chinese construction equipment manufacturer SDLG, this growth projection translates into an opportunity to cement its market leadership position in the Philippines, where its cost-effective wheeled loaders and motor graders are in popular demand.

Working in partnership Cemex and the RSPB have transformed 1,000 hectares of former quarry sites into grassland, woodland, heathland and more to provide much needed habitat for some of the UK’s most threatened species. LafargeHolcim will supply environmentally friendly, high-performance concretes for the construction of Mexico City’s new International Airport. Designed by architects Lord Foster and Fernando Romero, the project will be the world’s most sustainable airport and will eventually serve 68 million passengers a year. LafargeHolcim’s concrete solutions used for the airport were developed by the group’s Mexican technology centre in collaboration with LafargeHolcim’s global R&D center in Lyon, France.
