FLSmidth to supply cement plant in Pakistan

FLSmidth has signed a contract worth €57 million (approximatelt DKK 425million) with D.G. Khan Cement Company to supply engineering and equipment for a 8,500tonnes/day greenfield cement plant in Pakistan. The plant will be located in Hub in the province of Baluchistanm some30km north-west of Karachi. D.G. 7451 FLSmidth has signed a contract worth €57 million (approximatelt DKK 425million) with D.G. Khan Cement Company to supply engineering and equipment for a 8,500tonnes/day greenfield cement plant in Pakistan.

The plant will be located in Hub in the province of Baluchistanm some30km north-west of Karachi.

D.G. Khan Cement Company is a major cement producer in Pakistan, and is part of the Nishat Group which is one of the largest conglomerates in the country.

The first contract between D.G. Khan Cement Company and FLSmidth dates back to 1992 and since then the partnership has resulted in additional three orders to FLSmidth in 1998, 2005 and 2007.

“Pakistan is a very important market for FLSmidth and we are extremely pleased that D.G. Khan Cement Company has again chosen FLSmidth as its supplier. This underlines our valuable long-term ties with D.G. Khan Cement Company as well as our strong foothold in Pakistan where we expect to see more activity following new government development programs,” says Per Mejnert Kristensen, president of the Cement Division.

The order will be booked by the Cement Division and contribute beneficially to FLSmidth's earnings until 2017.
