Ecocem has opened its first bulk import terminal in the UK.
The Irish company partnered with Peel Ports to open the terminal at Runcorn Docks on the Manchester Ship Canal, north-west England.
Ecocem invested £2 million (€2.5 million) in the project.
A further £2 million has been set aside to fund an increase in capacity.
Ecocem produces low-carbon cement at a plant at Dublin Port, Ireland.
