US kiln cancelled by Lafarge

It is reported that expansion plans at the Joppa Cement Plant in Massac County, Illinois, USA, which would have generated approximately 50 new jobs through the addition of a third kiln, have been cancelled by French cement manufacturer Lafarge. Robin De Carlo, a spokeswoman for Lafarge, stated that the company's ability to sufficiently run on its current two kilns had motivated its decision to end the expansion plans.
