It is reported that expansion plans at the Joppa Cement Plant in Massac County, Illinois, USA, which would have generated approximately 50 new jobs through the addition of a third kiln, have been cancelled by French cement manufacturer
Robin De Carlo, a spokeswoman for Lafarge, stated that the company's ability to sufficiently run on its current two kilns had motivated its decision to end the expansion plans.
