In response to being asked how Wirtgen India proposes to make the production of MS 703 screens cost-competitive, while retaining their superior quality standards, in the price sensitive Indian market, Palagiri said: “It is a challenge for us. However, we are trying our best to address the issue.”

Looking further to consolidate its presence in the Indian quarrying sector, SDLG unveiled its new LG 933L 3tonne payload wheeled loader. The model is powered by the Weichai WP6G125E331, inline water cooled, electronic, direct injection engine delivering 92kW of power. The LG 933L is equipped with a 1.8m³ bucket. “There is a growing demand for 3tonne wheeled loaders in India in the quarrying and ready-mixed concrete sectors. The LG 933L is simpler and more cost-effective, featuring reliability and robust performance. Its faster cycle times make it suitable for 200tph crushing plants,” said Sanu George, business head of SDLG India.

Krishnan added: “We will keep producing our B-Prime series excavators as we need time to ramp up production of the new D-series excavators.”
Fitted with tier 3 115kW Volvo engines, the EC 210D comes with 0.52-1.22m³ buckets. It has up to 9.93m of digging reach and up to 6.73m of digging depth. For faster cycle times and improved fuel consumption, the EC 210D is equipped with intelligent work modes, including the new G4 mode. Operators can choose a mode that best suits the task at hand, selecting from idle, fine, general, heavy and power max mode, ensuring flexibility and higher productivity. The excavator, which can be fitted with a selection of buckets and breakers, comes with an improved cabin, featuring a new I-ECU monitor for displaying a range of information.
The new EC 250D also comes with G4 mode. The model is equipped with a Volvo D7, six-cylinder diesel engine rated at 138kW and an I-ECU monitor for information on fuel consumption and upcoming maintenance tasks. A heavy-duty undercarriage made of thick gauge and high-strength tensile steel, and sprocket and top rollers made from forged steel and deep-hardened for long-term durability, are the advanced features of the new excavator, according to Volvo CE India. The EC 250D comes with 1.21 and 1.45m³ buckets. Maximum digging reach is 10.26m and maximum digging depth is 6.98m.
After acquiring the intangible assets of Nawa Industries, the South Indian crushing and screening major in February 2016,
Sivasubramanian Natarajan, MD of ThyssenKrupp Industries India, said: “Backed by the acquisition, we will differentiate product offerings on economy, premium pricing and models. Based on our own German design, we will also carry out design improvisation in the Nawa-designed plants, mainly for higher productivity, safety and user-friendliness.” The new range of crushing and screening solutions will be ThyssenKrupp branded.
Propel Industries, the Tamil Nadu, South India-based crushing, screening and manufactured sand equipment producer, will venture into the tracked plants business from 2017. Senthil Kumar, the company’s MD, said: “Our new 250tph tracked jaw cone and screen plants are equipped with optional Cat and Scania power packs which can deliver higher productivity, fuel efficiency and low cost per tonne of crushing.”
Propel has very recently introduced new AVC 120, 100tonnes/hour cone crushers, for smaller crushing plant owners and quarry operators besides offering AVC 220, 220tonnes/hour, AVC 250, 250tonnes/hour, AVC 160 and 120tonnes/hour cone crushers.
Another South India-based major crushing and screening equipment manufacturer, Puzzolana Machinery Fabricators, reported a very positive response to its new 250tonnes/hour diesel-electric tracked crushers and screens launched during Excon 2015.
Rajender Khoda, Puzzolana group business development advisor, said: “The tracked plants which have been developed and manufactured for the first time in India by us have found very encouraging demand from the market, due to their higher productivity and lower cost per tonne.” Puzzolana’s track crushers are powered by CAT /Volvo engines, while the company’s screens are powered by India-based Eicher engines. The company claims to have supplied a number of units to the eastern, southern and central Indian states of Odisha, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Fine Equipments, the Pune-based Indian mineral processing and road equipments manufacturer and distributor, displayed its new Fi W 60 sand washing systems at bC India. Neeraj Gaur, MD of Fine Equipments, said: “The 60tph plant coupled with a slurry management plant will be able to recover and recycle 90% of the water.”
Meanwhile, NK, the Gujarat-based crushing and screening equipment manufacturer, showed crushing automation solutions from
Nehal Gajjar, director of NK Engineers, said: “The wireless solutions involve various modules which can be integrated to any brand and configuration of fixed and skid mounted plants. The ‘Q’ production along with the AFC (Automatic Feeder Control) function solution delivers information on machine efficiency parameters. This includes information on feed hoppers’ effective operating time, energy consumption, crushers’ efficiency, screens’ efficiency, hydrocyclone efficiency, and conveyor belts’ efficiency.”
Gajjar added: “Given the dearth of skilled plant operators in India and higher cost per tonne in many quarries, particularly those run by corporates, the Ma-estro solutions will significantly contribute towards increasing the efficiency of the crushing plants, while reducing their operating costs.”
The Ma-estro solutions will be serviced and supported by NK Engineers which manufactures 50-500tonnes/hour mobile crushing and screening plants under the brand name Kaizer. Elsewhere in the showground, Murphy by Enovation Controls displayed its new Drill Management Systems. The solution was exhibited in its four variants DAS-3, DAS-4, DAS-7 and DAS 7A.
Harpreet Singh Wahan, Murphy’s general manager, sales & marketing-India, said: “The drill management system will be highly beneficial for OEMs as it is integrated to the systems of the machine. OEMs will not have to buy a separate management system to attain accuracy levels in drilling. The DAS is modular and full of options to choose from. It can therefore be customised to a very high degree for required equipment performance.”
