Holcim plans Slovakia investment

Holcim has announced plans to invest €11million in improving its cement factory in Rohoznik, Slovakia and outlined a scheme to invest a further €40million in the region.

680 Holcim has announced plans to invest €11million in improving its cement factory in Rohoznik, Slovakia and outlined a scheme to invest a further €40million in the region. The company has said that €7million of the first tranche of investment will be used to improve efficiency at the cement facility.

The Slovakia-based subsidiary said that it is negotiating with its parent company to secure the other part of the investment which would be used to improve environmental protection.

In Slovakia, Holcim requests state aid for its investment

Swiss cement and construction materials producer Holcim is reported to be requesting over €700,000 state aid for its investment in a new centre for sales support, HR, back office and accounting services for its operations in four European countries.

The Holcim Business Services centre is planned to be opened in Kosice, eastern Slovakia, and the state aid is requested for creation of new jobs.
