LSR-Bazovye to expand concrete production

Russian concrete firm LSR-Bazovye, part of LSR group, plans to invest €25.25 million (RUB 1billion) a year in expanding production capacities. By the end of 2012 the company is to open three concrete plants, two in Saint-Petersburg and one in the Leningrad region. The company also plans to bring Petrovsky ballast quarry to its projected capacity of 500,000tonnes. Exploration works are in progress at Vorontsovskoye sand field in the Vyborgsky district of the Leningrad region.

Russian concrete firm LSR-Bazovye, part of 3777 LSR group, plans to invest €25.25 million (RUB 1billion) a year in expanding production capacities.

By the end of 2012 the company is to open three concrete plants, two in Saint-Petersburg and one in the Leningrad region. The company also plans to bring Petrovsky ballast quarry to its projected capacity of 500,000tonnes. Exploration works are in progress at Vorontsovskoye sand field in the Vyborgsky district of the Leningrad region.

LSR-Bazovye estimates its share in the regional commercial concrete market at 20%. It also estimates it has a 40% share of the ballast market, and claims to be the top regional quarry sand producer. The company expects 2012 revenue to total €251.36 million (RUB 10 billion) without VAT.

Experts anticipate a 7% growth of the ready-mix concrete market in St Petersburg and the Leningrad region of Russia in 2013 compared with 15% in 2012.

The market, however, is expected to retain its structure, except that some small companies are likely to quit business. In Q1-Q3 2013, 4.6 million m³ of concrete was produced in the region (compare with 6 million m³ in 2012).

St Petersburg concrete use 2.6mn tonnes in H1

According to LSR Group estimates, concrete consumption reached about 2.6 million m³ in St Petersburg and the Leningrad regions of Russia in the first half of 2012. Over 60 commercial concrete producers are present in the local market, with the 20 biggest capturing 80% of the market. The Top 20 include LSR Aggregates and Ready-mix Concrete North-West; Beaton; TKS Beton; Lenstroydetal; Betonika and Prommonolit.
