At an unreserved public auction in Donington Park, County Leicestershire, England,
The company’s fifth auction in Donington Park attracted more than 580 on-site and online bidders from 61 countries. All items were sold on auction day to the highest bidders without minimum bids or reserve prices.
“We’ve seen the number of sellers double at our most recent Donington Park auction,” says Rupert Craven, UK and Ireland sales director, Ritchie Bros Auctioneers.
“The sustained high level of utilisation in the UK rental fleet has stimulated rental businesses to review their fleets, invest in new equipment and sell parts of their inventories. There’s a particular appetite in the market for good quality used ex-rental equipment, which makes an unreserved Ritchie Bros auction a great place to turn equipment into cash at fair market value.”
Bidders were able to join the Donington Park auction in person or live over the internet, with online bidders becoming succesful on 32% of the items sold.
“The auction was easy to follow and the detailed equipment information on the Ritchie Bros. website was helpful in my preparations,” says first-time buyer Daniel Hayes from Manchester-based building developer Branley Homes, who personally inspected the items of his interest before the auction.”
