Using a special 3D concrete printing material from Heidelberg Materials, the largest 3D printed building in Europe is currently being built in Heidelberg, Germany. Printing of the building began at the end of March 2023 and is expected to last until the end of July 2023. 

Construction materials group Breedon says that trading during the first quarter of 2023 has been positive, with encouraging levels of enquiries. 

Heidelberg Materials says the company has entered into a definitive purchase agreement to acquire The SEFA Group Inc., the largest fly ash recycling company in the United States. 

Swiss building materials giant Holcim is celebrating a strong start to 2023 after posting 8% organic growth in first-quarter sales worth CHF 5.725bn (€5.834bn). The Group’s Recurring EBIT of CHF 493m (€502.4mn) equated to organic growth of 12%.

CEMEX Philippines (CHP) achieved a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions generated by its two cement subsidiaries, Solid Cement Corporation and APO Cement Corporation, from 1990-2022. Based on public declarations, this is the highest CO2 emissions reduction in the industry, establishing CEMEX’s commitment to decarbonising its operations through its Future in Action program.
