The 12th edition of Excon witnessed high-end machine launches for newer quarries and mining applications. It was also marked by the unveiling of electric equipment and hydrogen engines in a big way. Partha Pratim Basistha reports
South Asia's largest construction equipment event, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), ran between the 12th and 16th of December 2023 at Bangalore, Karnakata, South India. Spread over 3,20,000m² of the exhibition display area, the show witnessed the participation of fifteen countries, including five country pavilions of France, Germany, Italy, Turkey and the UK and over 1000 exhibitors.
Large-scale launches of hydrogen combustion engines, electric plants and machinery across mineral extraction, loading and hauling marked the event. There were major launches of new Stage V engines for equipment with the new Indian emission norms to curtail emissions and bolster energy efficiency. This aligned with the OEM's zeal to support the Indian Government's vision of attaining net zero by 2070.
Volvo Penta India showed its new emission, BS stage V Engine, at Excon 2023 for the off-highway application. The engine comes with an after-treatment system. This will contribute towards a reduction in soot formation in the engine filters. This would thereby aid towards enhanced levels of combustion and fuel efficiency.
Sharing details, R. Sethumadhavan, head of Volvo Penta India & Industrial Business Unit, said: "The new Volvo Penta, Stage five technology engine features an all composite urea tank with integrated pump ACM unit, diesel particulate filter, EPG and common rail direct injection systems. The engine has been devised to meet the new emission regulations. This is while providing higher levels of performance reliability, lower operating costs, and, most importantly, delivering faster duty cycles. The common rail injection systems, fixed geometry turbo and viscous fan form a robust solution that lowers fuel consumption."
He said: "Developed based on inputs from the Volvo CE Engine platform gathered and oriented by our R&D facility in Sweden to meet the application needs, the engine delivers best-in-class fuel efficiency.
Volvo CE India launched its EC500, a 50-ton class electric excavator. The excavator can be operated through a grid connection. Volvo CE also displayed its L120 electric wheeled loader for material handling in ports, mines, steel plants and other construction sites. The machine has no pipe tail emissions and almost silent operations, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
Also on display by Volvo CE was the prototype EC80, an electric track excavator. Volvo CE also showed its 5-ton class SDLG electric wheeled loader at Excon 2023. The company has delivered 12 units of these loaders for cement, steel and power industries.
Dimitrov Krishnan, CEO of Volvo CE India, said: "These electric wheeled loaders will be highly suitable to work in areas like tunnel construction projects, where there is inadequate ventilation of fumes." He said: "We will rely on our 'Service Business Models' to promote our electric wheeled loaders, excavators and road equipment. The reason for going through the 'Service Business Model' to promote our range of both SDLG and Volvo wheel loaders is to make the customers well-acquainted with the functioning of the units. This is because certain operational risks are associated with the electric charging of the machines. This needs highly skilled handling. With the model, we will be able to operate the machines safely. This is till the owner/ operators of the machines become fully adaptable with the nuances of the functionalities of the machines."
JCB India unveiled the JCB 3DX hydrogen backhoe loader and the JCB hydrogen combustion engine. Deepak Shetty, CEO & MD-JCB, India, said: "It is very fitting that the JCB 3DX backhoe loader powered by a hydrogen combustion engine is being publicly unveiled in India for the first time. With the launch at Excon, the biggest construction equipment event in South Asia, JCB India has shown that it has practical and affordable technology to decarbonise construction in India and other parts of the world."
He said: "A special team of 150 JCB engineers is working on the pioneering initiative to develop hydrogen combustion engines, and more than 75 prototypes have already been manufactured. The prototype hydrogen engines are already powering the JCB backhoe loaders and the load all telescopic telehandlers."JCB's
Tim Burnhope, group director of special projects at JCB (the official behind JCB's hydrogen programme), said: "The future is really exciting, and everybody wants to discuss sustainability and net zero carbon future. While some people worry about it, we spend our time and resources fixing it. India's infrastructure development over the coming years will be sensational, and we cannot make quality infrastructure without great products. At JCB, we have solutions for every sector and are committed to building up India's infrastructure most cost-effectively and efficiently."
Tata Hitachi showed its futuristic, the Zaxis 55U-6EB ( electric-battery) electric mini excavator. The product has been developed indigenously. Also on display were the ZAXIS 140 H ULTRA Ex 130 Prime and EX 70 Prime Excavators with AC cabin. India's only hydrostatic wheeled loader TL 340 H Prime, ZW 225, 5-ton class wheeled loaders and other EX Series Zaxis wheeled loaders were on display.
LiuGong showed its 105-ton tipper trucks, 65-ton tracked excavators, 206hp dozers at the event. Nischal Mehrotra, senior vice president of sales & marketing at LiuGong India, said: "Through the products and higher capacity excavators and wheeled loaders, we will further expand our business presence in the fast-growing Indian Quarrying and Mining sector. We will continue to make a strong presence in the Indian quarry sector as well. This would be through our range of offerings from 15-ton to 24-ton class excavators."
Mehrotra touched on the sales prospects for LiuGong's electric wheeled loaders in India: "We are highly excited about the future business prospects of our electric wheeled loaders in India. We have sold six units of our 856 HEV, 5-ton class wheeled loaders to varied segments like mining and port for bulk cargo handling applications. The results of the usage of the wheeled loaders have been highly encouraging. This has been backed by the requisite technical support we rendered through our trained operators for safe loader operations. We want to promote our EV 820, 2-ton class wheeled loaders. We are targeting the ready mix concrete industry for material transportation and loading for concrete mix preparation through the loaders."
LiuGong has sold two 2-ton class wheeled loaders to crushing plants in West Bengal and other parts of India. The company displayed both segments of wheeled loaders at Excon 2023. Mehrotra continued: "The wheeled loaders will be highly economical to own and operate for industry segments like power, ports, steel having abundant captive power. Higher availability of the loaders will be rendered only by 8-9 hours of charging."
Hyundai India exhibited its 3- and 5-ton wheeled loaders. The loaders have been manufactured at Hyundai's Chakan Plant in Pune, Maharashtra, Western India. It also displayed the HX Series of 50-ton excavators from the global platform for the first time. Under the HX Series, Hyundai showed its HX 360L, 36-ton and HX 380 L, 38-ton excavators.
The company also displayed its new 'Smart +' Excavators offering, an improved version over the previous Robex series, under the 3-8-14-15-ton range.
Rajiv Chaturvedi, vice president of Hyundai Construction Equipment India, said: "The products are best in class in their offerings, featuring the best of digitised technology, life cycle costs, and are delivered through superior new designs and aggregates." Hyundai India has produced 45,000 units of excavators ever since it commenced production in India in 2008. The company exports its products to 30 countries. This also covers the Middle East and SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) countries.
Chaturvedi said: "Looking forward to widening our business in excavators, we will be looking to promote our mini excavators from our Indian facility. This is a new product from our Indian facility, and we expect to get good business volumes out of this product." Hyundai India expects to get fair volumes of business from the wheeled loaders business.
Caterpillar showcased a new 13-litre engine platform at Excon 2023. According to the company, the new high-performance Cat C 13D, 13-litre diesel engine that debuted in India, is designed to improve the long-term value for third-party OEMs and equipment owners. The inline six-cylinder engine platform is engineered to Caterpillar's standards for reliability and productivity. It achieves the best-in-class power density, torque and fuel efficiency for optimising the performance of heavy-duty applications. The engine offers eight power ratings from 340 to 515 kW with up to 3,200 peak torque. Engine-mounted after-treatment and cooling packs will also be available from the factory to reduce installation and validation costs. The C 13D will come into production in 2026, meeting the emission standards of higher regulated markets like the EU Stage V and US EPA Tier 4. While in production, the engine will be capable of being certified to future India CEV Stage V and TREM V emission standards while continuing to serve unregulated, non-road-able CEVs within India, such as machines, crushing and screening machinery.
"Off-highway OEMs and equipment owners face a rapidly evolving business environment demanding improved worksite productivity and reduced operating costs. Internal combustion engines are prevailing workhorses on most job sites around the world, which is why we invested in the next generation Cat C13 D diesel engine platform to address the challenges," said Steve Ferguson, senior vice president of Caterpillar Industrial Power systems.
Mani Ranjan, district manager of APD-Caterpillar India, said: "Caterpillar has always been a customer-driven company. The business philosophy, which is the core strength of Cat, has been facilitated by our dealers. The dealers have helped us to expand our reach and consolidate our businesses in India. This is evident by our long-standing relationship with Tractors India Limited (now Gainwell Commosales) for the past seventy-five years and Gmmco for the past 47 years covering pan India. Caterpillar has been closely supporting the general character of the cyclical business of its dealers in India."
He said: "Caterpillar India will continue working on the business strategy to align its products and services to clients' application needs. This will be entailing through its range of solutions across the business verticals covering construction equipment, mining, power, energy and transportation."
Looking to conform to the new Indian emission norms, Italian-origin engine manufacturer Kohler Engines launched its new Bharat Stage V Engines at Excon 2023. The Bharat Stage V Engine is similar to Euro Stage V Engines. This new range comprises the KDI-TC 1903 engine in the 19 to 37kW range and the KDI TCR 1903 and KDI TCR 2504 engines in the 37 to 56 kW range.
Regarding the new engine variant, Vincenzo Perrone, president of Kohler Engines, said: "The new engine, meeting the new emission norms, has been developed, based on the long-drawn research and development expertise and global footprint of Kohler Engines."
Sharing details on the key efficient deliverables of the new Stage V Engine, Perrone said: "The engine comes with diesel particulate filter. Integrated with the engine, this facilitates the reduction of soot accumulation generated via the carbon particles of the cylinder. Higher levels of soot accumulation can go on towards minimising the performance of the engines and also make higher fuel burning, resulting in higher operating costs."
He continued: "The Kohler new Stage V Engine with soot reduction can drive clean combustion. This is facilitated by Kohler's Direction Fuel Injection System (KDI). This dissipates fine fuel droplets in desired volumes to mix with oxygen for burning in the engine chambers. He said, "We are confident that the new BS V engines will be embraced by the Indian Construction Equipment Industry, given its requirements to enhance productivity and low total costs of ownership."
Kohler has strategic plans to go for localised production of its engines in India at its upcoming plant at Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Western India, by April 2025.
Weichai India (a Shandong Heavy Industry Group Company SHIG), producing off- and on-highway engines and captive power gensets, displayed its Bharat stage V engines complying with the new emission norms. The engines will suit wheeled loaders, motor graders, truck cranes and compactors. The engines will be available in 4.6 litres, 4, 3.6, 8 and 10 litres.
Gurunath Kulkarni, vice president of sales and marketing at Shandong Heavy Industry India, said: "The advanced electronic engines come with a treatment system. This can be mounted on the engines or work in isolation, depending on the requirements of the OEMs. We are working with OEMs to co-engineer the products further to fully meet their needs. The stage V engines will be highly suited to tipper trucks requirements."
SHIG also displayed its complete solutions for dump trucks for mining applications, starting with engine make from Weichai, transmission and axle. SHIG supplies its diesel engines for mining rigid dump trucks between 90 and 105 tons. Kulkarni said: "The engines have been engineered along with the transmission systems to fully ensure that there are no levels of transmission losses."
Indian heavy and light commercial vehicles behemoth Tata Motors made its commercial launch of its LNG-powered Tata Prima range of trucks and rigid dump trucks at Excon 2023. This comprised the Tata Prima 5528 S LNG and Tata Prima 3528 K LNG. Tata Motors also showed the Tata Prima E 28 K, an electric tipper concept aligning with the company's commitment to zero-emission technology solutions. According to the company, these vehicles represent significant breakthroughs in the industry's shift towards cleaner energy sources, reaffirming Tata Motor's goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2045.
Rajesh Kaul, vice president & business head of trucks at Tata Motors, said: "The launch of LNG-powered trucks and tipper trucks underlines our innovations to meet the evolving needs of the Indian fleet owners looking for sustainable solutions while operating quarry, mining and on-road applications. As a customer-centric company, we understand fleet owners demand more value in long-haul transportation and infrastructure sectors like construction and mining. We have also displayed our electric tipper concept, the Prima E 28K. Along with introducing the electric tipper, we will develop holistic ecosystems to aid electric mobility in the construction segment. The new VX variants of the Prima and Signa will set new paradigms in the industry for safety productivity and driver's comfort."
Indian crushing and screening major Propel Industries unveiled two electric variants of tipper trucks at Excon. The 470 MEV and 470 HEV electric vehicle dump trucks have been designed and manufactured at Propel's manufacturing facility in Coimbatore in southern India.
V. Senthil Kumar, managing director of Propel Industries, said: "The launch of our EV dump trucks is a significant milestone for Propel Industries as the first completely indigenously made EV dump truck. This will contribute significantly towards sustainability in mining and quarrying. We have channelled our experience and knowledge in designing EV rigid dump trucks to maximise efficiency and give the highest returns in mining operations. Propel guarantees these trucks' top-notch performance reliability and durability even in the most challenging mining and quarrying applications."
He continued: "The lithium battery packs from 171 to 450kWH make the choice flexible, affordable and application-specific. The batteries are configured according to the distance and gradient of the mines to ensure a driving time of 6 to 12 hours on a single charge. The batteries are warranted for five years or 4000 cycles. At the same time, industry-leading features such as payload detection, driver fatigue warning, automatic headlamp dipper, and crash detection ensure safety. The chassis frame of the trucks with deeper sections is fully reinforced for extreme road and payload conditions."
South India-based crushing and screening and washed sand solutions provider Puzzolana Machinery Fabricators chose the Excon 2023 platform to exhibit its new range of crushing and screening solutions.
Sharing details on the new range of products, V. Venkatramana, the company's marketing vice president, said: "We have launched the bigger sized cone crushers PSC C 120 and PSCC 140. The crushers come with fixed and floating functionalities. This will enhance the capacity and productivity of the crushing units. The fixed and floating shaft cone crusher is being offered through our 350tph track crusher units. Fixed shaft crushers can contribute to the further optimisation of crushing plants. This is because they will help towards production of smaller size materials."
Puzzolana also displayed its new range of vertical shaft impactors at Excon. Venkataramana said: "The new VSI with centrifugal discharge impactor will facilitate the production of quality sand with less ultrafine materials. Further, the special gas bearing design will contribute towards reduced maintenance costs of the plants." Trials are underway for the VSI, and the 300tph product is expected to be commercially launched soon by the company.
Wirtgen India will continue manufacturing screens at its Pune facility in Maharashtra, Western India. The company will also continue to make scalpers for the Indian and global markets. This was confirmed by Ramesh Kumar Palagiri, managing director of Wirtgen India, talking to Aggregates Business at Excon 2023.
He said: "Our present focus in the Kleeman line of business will be making the screens and scalpers. We will avoid making the full range of primary and secondary crushing solutions. However, we will make a suitable decision based on the business scenario. Though we will not sell our crushing solutions in India, we may look into the demolition waste recycling market and biomining as these offer sizeable business opportunities in India."
Indian crushing and screening equipment company Hailstone Innovations launched a series of new semi-mobile crushing solutions at Excon 2023. It also launched new variants of single jaw and cone crushers at the event.
Regarding the new solutions, Sooraj Cherokoot, general manager of sales and marketing at Hailstone Innovations, said: "The new variants of crushers have been launched with sustainability in production and mineral processing in mind. Our new TJ 130 300tph jaw crusher, EC 2500, 250tph, EC 3500, 350tph, and EC 150 semi-mobile two-stage jaw and cone come with a compact footprint and will be able to process hard rocks with higher levels of abrasiveness. One of the unique attributes of the new jaw and cone crushers is their higher power-to-weight ratio." Hailstone exports its crushing solutions to the Middle East, Russia and Latin American countries.
Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology India displayed its locally made jumbo drills DT 820 for road, rail and hydro project construction. The product has been made at its new Pune facility. The company also showed its DC 122R Commando Drill rig, a popular choice for surface drilling in India linked to road construction, stone quarries and the cement industry. Another highlight from Sandvik India was the CH 660 cone crusher.
Italian gearbox and drives manufacturing major Bonfiglioli displayed its new 710 C gearbox for the 20-ton tracked excavators, among other products. Kennady V. Kaipally, country manager for Bonfiglioli Transmissions India, said: "The new 710 C gearbox is fully made at our Indian facility. To fully meet the local application needs of the excavators, where we have a sizeable business presence in the Indian OEM market. The 710-C gearbox is a cost-effective product with a longer lifecycle. It delivers a faster duty cycle with both live and dead loads.
Kaipally added: "Since our strategy is to expand our business presence in India by addressing the evolving application needs for excavators, crushing and screening equipment, we will harness our global R&D expertise for developing Indian-centric products backed by support from our R&D facility in Pune. The inputs gathered will address the application needs of the industry segments served by Bonfiglioli, chiefly track drives and mobility segments."
Fabio Campana, product marketing director, Mobile and Wind Industries at Bonfiglioli, Riduttori, said: "We are working very closely with the OEMs in India to develop more cost-effective solutions. We will continue to co-engineer with OEMs to offer gears and conveyor drives for tracked crushing machines, based on our long-drawn experience in supplying to track plant manufacturers globally. Since the tracked plant manufacturers in India are looking to minimise the operating costs of the equipment, we will curtail the use of the redundant components to the best extent possible."
Italian crushing attachment manufacturer MB Crusher displayed its shaft screen and other attachments at Excon 2023. Piero Guizetti, CEO of MB Crusher India, said: "The HDS shaft screens from our stable are a new offering for the Indian market. This was launched in Italy two years ago. The shaft screens will complement the screening buckets. Generally, there are clogging issues while screening the wet materials in the screening buckets. The HDS shaft screens will not have any clogging issues while crushing the wet materials. The attachment kit can be used for land scoops and shredding of waste materials. It can also be used for crushing coal, gypsum, organic and household waste with higher calorific value. The product had an encouraging response in India as we have sold three units for coal-crushing applications in the southern Indian state of Telangana. The utility of this product is that it comes with much lower pricing points of crushing and is fully compatible with the hydraulic excavators class ranging from 1.3 tons to 45 tons.
MB Crusher offers crushing attachments for backhoe, wheeled, and skid steer loaders under the MBL series. The mouth opening is 250mm. The input could be 150mm, which can be fed through the mouth. For excavators, the company is offering its BF line of attachments. There are eight models in the BF line. The products are suitable for any model of excavators. They can be used from 7-ton class mini excavators to 100-ton class machines with mouth openings between 500-700mm.
The company has witnessed growing business in India during the past two years. Guizetti said: "As part of our marketing strategy, along with targeting the smaller contractors, we have also started making inroads, placing ourselves as the most suitable primary crushing solutions. This can replace the jaw for the smaller quarries and mine owners crushing between 50-100tph."
Speaking about expanding MB Crusher's business network in India, Piero said: "We have begun appointing single dealers in every single dealer to have a decent business. He said: "With heightened sales in India, our management had placed India among our top 10 markets earlier. With the sales becoming firmer and projected demand to increase, MB Crusher management has identified India as the top four markets globally by 2030."
JK Tyre, India's premier tyre manufacturer, launched 11 new Off-the-Road (OTR) tyres at Excon 2023. The products launched by the company comprised the all-new JK Tyre 18.00–25 40PR Port Champion Plus, which is JK Tyre's Next-Gen Port Tyre, designed specifically for Reach Stackers (container handling equipment). According to the company, The tyre provides excellent durability, mileage, and steering ability during operation owing to its deep tread and accurate pattern with heavy rubber in the centre.
Along with the Port Champion Plus tyre, the OTR manufacturing conglomerate also introduced ten new tyre variants for diverse applications in the construction segment. The 17.5-25 20PR GTL Plus E3/L3 and 13.00-24 16PR GTL Champ G3. The tyres with high traction are designed to support motor graders' operations with their durability on the harshest terrain. Known for its high tread depth, the Hard Rock Champion series' new addition, 12.00-20 20PR E4, is suitable for the mining tipper trucks functioning in the rough terrain of the mining sites.
Kartik Mahesh Shah, vice president of design and development and Eswara Rao, vice president of JK Tyre and Industries, said: "The new solutions will go on towards strengthening our presence in the wheeled loaders and tipper trucks segments.
"We will look for further value proposition offerings in backhoe and wheel loaders through newer products with competitive attributes. This will contribute towards the higher performance of the equipment. The value in products for wheeled loaders is the featured 'load champ' rim protector to work in rough terrain. This will provide better life and less damage to the tyres while in operation."
CASE Construction Equipment (CASE) launched its BS (CEV) V-compliant backhoe loader, the 770 NX Plus, and the 1107 NX-PD soil compactor. It also debuted in two new categories in India by unveiling an all-new skid steer loader, the SSL 175, and a mini excavator, the CX 35D. CASE also exhibited ten new and upgraded products and services, including electric mini excavators and vibratory compactors, excavators and motor graders with a host of attachments and the all-new FLEETPRO, a value line parts offering.
Shalabh Chaturvedi, managing director of CASE Construction Equipment – India and the SAARC Region, said: "Showcasing our preparedness towards adapting the upcoming Stage 5 emission norms as well as upgrading our entire loader backhoe range with the safest operator cabin. Our new offering comprising the skid steer loaders and mini excavators will enable us to widen our product portfolio for the Indian Infrastructure segment. Our new FLEETPRO parts offerings services will allow us to offer strengthened product support to our customers.
Chaturvedi continued: "The CEV Stage V-compliant CASE 770 NX Plus will offer an ideal balance of high productivity and better fuel efficiency. An Electronic 74hp diesel engine powers this machine. This is coupled with the New Generation Electro-Hydraulics Variable Pump with 143lpm flow and 240 bar peak pressure. The 770NX Plus, with its 1.1 cubic metre and 0.30 cubic metre-standard buckets, offers high versatility with options like high dump and bottom dump buckets and a Rock Breaker kit. The machine is equipped with the standard offering of the ROPS and FOPS compliant safe and high comfort cabin and SiteWatch Telematics."
"Our CX 35D compact excavator is loaded with the distinguished 3.5-ton digger that offers tailored configurations, including a cab or canopy and the option of rubber or steel tracks for unparalleled versatility and operational efficiency. Delivering an impressive digging depth of up to 3070mm, the CX35D with zero-tail swing is the premier choice for dynamic urban and infrastructure sites characterised by heightened traffic or the coexistence of diverse equipment types."
At the event, Alexander Markov, vice president of the construction segment at CNH Industrial AME & APAC, said: "Almost twenty per cent of our global export demand, including that of Asia Pacific and the Middle East, is met from India. We will be looking to make further capital investments at our facility in Pithampur to scale up production for catering for the US and European market demand. Our initiative will be to make our Indian operations cater to the bulk of global markets in the next five to seven years."
Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT) launched its new rubber track, Multiforce BK T91, for compact track loaders. The product has tread made of a high-performance compound that ensures maximum resistance against cuts, tears and abrasions. This makes it suitable for various applications like clay, mud, asphalt, gravel and sand.
The company also showed its giant EARTHMAX SR 468, the advanced all-steel radial tyre, specially designed for long-haul mining trucks. Ashok Chhajer, senior general manager of OE sales BKT, said: "The unique tread design with special tread compounds makes it perfect for hard, rocky and tough mining conditions. Its tread lug blocks with circumferential grooves and intertwined blocks ensure effective heat dissipation."
Another tyre from the EARTHMAX family on display was EARTHMAX SR 53, an all-steel radial tyre specially designed for ultra-large wheel loaders operating in severe condition.
Doosan Bobcat exhibited a range of compressors using horizontal and vertical crawler-based drilling, among other usages. Doosan acquired Ingersoll Rand in 2007, covering the light towers and compressors, following which the products are branded as Doosan Bobcat.
Mentioning the compressors, B. S. Srinivas, director of portable power and Ramarao Dasika, general manager of PP sales and marketing, Doosan Bobcat India, said: "Higher functional reliability of the Doosan Bobcat compressors are provided through the Volvo Penta Electronic Engines. This makes the compressors perform at varied levels of duty cycles. This is especially for quarry, marble and limestone mining operations while performing primary breaking operations through the crawler drills." Doosan Bobcat compressors are available within the range of 300-550 CFM.
The pair added: "We package our compressors based on the required application needs and offer them as solutions. The compressors are packaged through the canopy settings to facilitate quarry operations. This considers other factors, like dust and high heat levels, associated with Indian quarry applications. Our compressors can withstand close to 55 degrees of heat."
One particularly interesting exhibit at Excon 2023 was block-making machines to optimise crushing plant operations. One was from Gujarat-based block-making machinery specialist Q-Green Techon.
Nitesh Modi, director of marketing & sales at Q-Green, said: "We look to drive business through adding value to RMC, brick kiln, crushing and screening plant owners."
Sharing details of the company's business strategy, Modi continued: "We foresee the sufficient future scope of business diversification by the brick kiln, RMC owners, and most significantly, crushing plant owners. This is through efficient utilisation and marketing of the byproducts they manufacture by adding critical value. This will make their business more profitable when business margins are under acute pressure in the present market scenario. This can be done by integrating our bricks and block-making machines into their core operations for producing fly ash bricks, solid concrete blocks, hollow blocks, and paver blocks. The products can be developed using manufactured and plastered sand, especially by the quarry owners.
"We are looking to address this new business order by marketing our plants to RMC plant owners, brick kilns, and most importantly, quarry owners, who have multiple trains to produce aggregates and sand. We recently sold one block-making machine of ours to one Tamil Nadu-based stone aggregates producer with a 150tph plant. The quarry owners will use the block-making machine to produce 40,000 bricks daily. We have also booked orders for seven block machines from quarry owners."
