Stefan Rummel, CEO of bauma organiser Messe München, says the 2025 event to be held at the Munich showsite on April 7-13 should attract around 500,000 visitors. He added that bauma 2025 will be truly international with exhibitors from 60 countries and visitors from 200 countries.

"2022 was a difficult year, we had just come out of the corona crisis and in 2025 we expect to be back close to the figures of 2019," Rummel said. "A lot of brands are back that haven't been there during the pandemic. For example Volvo, Deutz, CNH and LiuGong."

He added that there will also be 150 new first-time exhibitors at the 614,000m2 event site across a range of segments.

The most pressing topics among exhibitors at next year's staging of the triennial event will include current economic challenges, in addition to the transformational digitalisation and sustainability issues driving the industry.

There will be a series of designated theme days at bauma 2025 with day one - Monday April 7 - focusing on climate neutrality. "Climate neutrality is not just a topic of industry, its's a topic of society, of politics and of technology" says Joachim Schmid, MD consctruction equipment and plant engineering and MD mining at German machinery and equipment manufacturers association VDMA which is the main strategic partner at bauma.

Schmid says that the first day at bauma is traditionlly the "politics" day when politicians from Germany and around the EU attend to talk about the most pressing issues facing the industry.

"We will discuss with politicians from an industry perspective what the [climate neutrality] path will be," said Schmid. He added that this will include the potential path towards elecrification in the construction sector.

Schmid added that there has also been huge interest in the bauma Innovation Award categories which are being presented for the 14th time and attracted 208 entries.

The pre-event bauma media dialog for the press is scheduled for 18-19 2025 at the ICM – International Congress Center Messe München.
