Outgoing 2983 Bell Equipment CEO Gary Bell is take up the role of non-executive chairperson of the South African global articulated dump truck giant’s board. One of the sons of the founders of the company, Bell will succeed John Barton, who will become the lead independent non-executive director of the board on 1 June 2018.

Leon Goosen will succeed Gary Bell as Bell Equipment CEO. The 45-year-old has been working as Bell Equipment CEO designate since last summer, having previously worked as the firm’s chief operational officer and executive director. The Namibian national joined the company from Deloitte & Touche in 2007.

Bell Equipment has this week been showcasing its wide range of equipment at the 7719 bauma CONEXPO AFRICA 2018 exhibition, staged at the Johannesburg Expo Centre (13-16 March) in Johannesburg, South Africa. Already the South Africa distributor for Terex Finlay, Bomag and John Deere equipment, Bell Equipment is now also the South Africa distributor partner for Kobelco, a major Japanese global excavator manufacturer, and KAMAZ, a top Russian global market tipper-truck maker. A range of Bell Equipment’s distributor partner models were on show in Johannesburg along with Bell’s popular B60E and B45E ADTs.
