Molson Group has been appointed as a nationwide dealer for 8080 Terex Trucks in the UK.

The Bristol-headquartered dealer says that the move expands its product range to include large ADTs (articulated dump trucks) for the first time. The full range of Terex Trucks products will be available from Molson Equipment in England and Wales, with Molson Young Plant Sales looking after the brand in Scotland.

Molson Group adds that the addition of Terex Trucks’ ADTs further cements its position as a single source supplier to the construction, recycling and aggregate industries. The group offers a range of products including excavators, wheel loaders, crushers, screeners, shredders and material handlers from major brands.

"There are lots of construction projects going on in the UK at the moment and with the recent product improvements Terex Trucks has made, under Volvo ownership, we know the TA300 and TA400 are high quality machines that will be well suited to our customers’ needs,” said Molson Group joint MD Jonathan Wilson.

Paul Douglas, MD of Scotland-based Terex Trucks, commented: “With sites across the UK, the Molson Group will bring our TA300 and TA400 articulated haulers to a wider customer base.”

Terex Trucks was acquired by 473 Volvo Construction Equipment in 2015.

Terex Trucks says it has recently fitted a new transmission on the TA300 which has improved fuel efficiency, performance, productivity and operator comfort, when compared to the previous model working in the same application. The 28-tonne (30-ton) workhorse is claimed to deliver a 5% improvement in fuel efficiency, a 5 km/h (3.1 mph) increase in speed to 55 km/h (34 mph) and an increase in the length of time between oil maintenance intervals from 1,000 to 4,000 hours.

The TA400, the largest articulated hauler on offer from Terex Trucks, has a maximum payload of 38 tonnes (41.9 tons) and a heaped capacity of 23.3 m3 (30.3 yd3). Powered by a high performance, fuel efficient engine that develops a gross power of 331 kW (444 hp), the TA400 is designed to meet the demands of the most extreme operations such as quarries, mines and large-scale construction projects. The planetary gear transmission provides smooth, efficient gear shifting for optimized fuel consumption and reduced cost of operation. Ground level test points and a fully tilting cab, combined with an electronically raised hood, ensure ease of service and maximum uptime.

Long standing Terex Trucks dealer TDL will continue to service its UK customer base until early 2020.
