5453 SDLG says it will be introducing a 5 t-rated loader to the Indian market during the December bauma CONEXPO India 2018 event in Delhi.

The company, a China-based subsidiary of 473 Volvo Construction Equipment, says the move is in response to high demand for wheeled loaders in India. The new loader features a larger bucket capacity, heavier operating weight and a new cooling design system.

“With the Indian government continuing to invest in infrastructure, the new wheeled loader will be a great fit for heavy-load applications such as material handling, land clearing and general earthmoving,” said Surat Mehta, head of the SDLG business in India.

Alongside the new loader, SDLG will also display the G9138 motor grader and the L946 wheeled loader at bauma Conexpo India 2018, which takes place from December 11-14. The G9138 motor grader is the smaller of two motor grader models that SDLG offers in the region and is suitable for construction of smaller municipal or rural roads. The G9138 is powered by a 617 Deutz BF4M1013-15T3R/2 engine that has an output of 111kW at 2100rpm and can reach maximum 39km/h forward and 24km/h backward speeds. SDLG launched the L946 wheeled loader at Excon in December 2017. It features a maximum 3.5m³ bucket capacity, a maximum 1m dumping distance and a 129kW rated power.

Since 2015, the construction industry in India has grown and Mehta says he expects the trend to continue.

“For wheeled loaders, SDLG has a strong market position in the 3- to 5-tonne range, and we plan to further strengthen our position,” Mehta said. “For motor graders, there is potential to grow our customer base as well, with road construction activity levels remaining high in India.”

Bauma Conexpo India 2018 is organised by 5655 Messe München and the 6184 Association of Equipment Manufacturers. Around 650 exhibitors from 30 countries are expected at this year’s event.
