The company’s Indonesian leadership and staff, along with dealers Intraco Penta Prima Servis (IPPS) and Indotruck Utama (ITU), gathered for a special event to officially welcome the new machine.
Volvo says the crawler excavator’s robust design makes it an ideal choice for mining, heavy construction and quarries, three sectors that are looking for alternative options according to Gerrit Lambert, sales and marketing director at PT. Volvo Indonesia (the Indonesian subsidiary of Volvo CE).
“We’re confident that the EC300DL will be a great option for Indonesia’s construction, mining and quarry industries,” he said.
“Contractors are searching for machines that give them a competitive advantage. They want reliable and efficient equipment that is capable of handling even the most challenging job sites. The EC300DL is a machine that fits the bill perfectly: it’s efficient, powerful, and easy to operate.”
Equipped with a smart electro-hydraulic system, the EC300DL provides increased power, digging force, faster cycle times and greater control. The crawler excavator is equipped with a Volvo D7 diesel engine that delivers up to 170kW of power and 11% more fuel efficiency compared with previous models.
Operators also have the option of using Volvo’s ECO mode, which contributes up to 5% of the machine’s total fuel efficiency saving, with no loss of performance in most operating conditions. Additionally, a new gauge bar on the I-ECU shows fuel consumption instantaneously, allowing operators to monitor fuel use on different job sites or in different applications.
“The heavy-duty EC300DL is built to withstand all the rigors of the job site,” said Lambert.
“Whether it’s a major construction project, such as a dam, digging trenches, or shifting tough material in mines or quarries, the EC300DL gets the job done.”
The EC300DL will be available in Indonesia through the company’s two leading dealer partners, IPPS and ITU. During the launch event for the new machine dealers learned about the crawler excavator’s full range of features and benefits.
“I was able to inspect the new unit and sit at the controls. For our company it was a great opportunity to get to know the EC300DL and understand how it will benefit our customers,” said Kristo Aloysius, sales head, Sumatra, at ITU.
Mintoni Tanjung, key account manager at IPPS, agreed and added that the EC300DL will be a valuable addition for the Indonesian market.
“This new machine will further strengthen the excavator options we have for customers,” he said. “It will also help us target customers’ needs more directly while satisfying the growing requests we get for machines with more options.”
Appointed as a Volvo CE dealer in 2011, ITU now carries a wide range of the company’s products, including articulated haulers, excavators, pavers, compactors and wheel loaders. Founded in 1988, ITU specialises in heavy-duty equipment and is also a Volvo Trucks dealer.
Established in 2012, IPPS is subsidiary of Intraco Penta, one of the largest heavy machinery dealers in Indonesia, with over four decades of experience in the field. IPPS now operates from 12 distribution centres and has 27 after-market support offices across the country.
