The UK-based construction materials and infrastructure firm says it received the certification after demonstrating its company-wide commitment to proactively working to protect its employees.
ISO 45001 is the world's first International Standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S), providing a framework to increase safety, reduce workplace risks and enhance health and wellbeing at work, enabling an organisation to proactively improve its OH&S performance.
Mike Belson, health and safety director at Aggregate Industries UK, said: "Achieving this certification gives us a great sense of pride as it further shows our commitment to putting health and safety first in all that we do as an organisation."
The ISO 45001 achievement follows on from Aggregate Industries' certification early this year from the BSI of ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems, after demonstrating its company-wide commitment to energy efficiency.
