Having previously served as senior vice president of cement sales and marketing and general manager of construction materials at Essroc, Car succeeds Francesco Carantani, who will be undertaking new duties within the company.

Alex Car has been unveiled as the Essroc 726 Italcementi Group’s (EIG) new chief executive.
Having previously served as senior vice president of cement sales and marketing and general manager of construction materials at Essroc, Car succeeds Francesco Carantani, who will be undertaking new duties within the company.
The appointment of Car as EIG chief executive follows the announcement that 674 HeidelbergCement plans to acquire the company for €3.7 billion, forming the largest supplier of aggregates and the second largest cement producer in the industry.
