Announcing the new company name, effective from 1 May 2022, a Breedon Ireland spokesperson said: "Since the acquisition in 2018 when our family of Irish companies became part of the Breedon Group, our materials and contracting divisions continued to operate under the brands' Lagan and Whitemountain. We believe that it is now time for a more unified approach. Our main goal is to simplify our brand and provide clearer communication to all our stakeholders as we move forward.
"This consolidation will help us to combine all our talent, knowledge and expertise to work together as one, all making a material difference.
"As Breedon Ireland, we will strengthen our position as a leading construction materials group and continue our legacy of quality, service and dependability.
"Together, now bigger, now stronger, now Breedon!"
Among major projects being undertaken by Breedon Ireland is a £5 million investment next year to double the size of formerly Lagan's Lisburn concrete tile plant. The move will allow the newly branded company to keep up with soaring UK demand.
A leading construction materials group in Great Britain and Ireland, Breedon produces cement, aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, Welsh slate and specialist concrete and clay products and offers a range of contracting services. The group has around 1 billion tonnes of mineral reserves and resources with a strong asset portfolio.
