For the Smokovac-Mateševo section of the Bar-Boljare highway—the largest engineering project currently under development in Montenegro—CEMEX has already supplied over 280,000tonnes/cement, and continues to participate in this project. This 41-kilometer-long section of highway, part of Bar-Belgrade-Budapest Corridor, is expected to require the construction of 32 tunnels and 45 bridges and viaducts—rising from 63 to 1,100 meters above sea level.
CEMEX is also supplying over 200,000tonnes/cement for the Portonovi, Porto Montenegro, and Luštica Bay projects. These three mixed-use resorts offer luxurious accommodations, including a marina and yacht clubs, to attract high-end tourism to the Adriatic coast.
“We are very pleased to see Montenegro’s increased construction activity, which will significantly impact the quality of life and overall economic prospects of Montenegro. CEMEX is extremely proud to contribute to this positive development by delivering superior building solutions to our clients, who are engaged in the construction of key projects in Montenegro’s infrastructure and tourism sectors,” said Velimir Vilović, director of CEMEX Croatia.
