The 643 CEMEX-Tec Award will extend its deadline to Thursday 31 May 2018 in order to accommodate more high-impact projects in sustainable development by entrepreneurs and social innovators from all over the world.

To date, the CEMEX-Tec de Monterrey Center for Sustainable Development has registered projects from 19 different countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. CEMEX-Tec Award-winning projects will be promoted and implemented in diverse communities around the world through financing, specialized training, and networking.

"We are pleased to see that our global call for high-impact projects gives us the opportunity to continue receiving innovative initiatives not only from countries in Latin America, including Colombia, Peru, and Argentina, but also from countries such as Spain, India, and the Philippines. Our multiplying commitment makes these projects a reality,” said Martha Herrera, director of corporate social responsibility at CEMEX and director of the CEMEX-Tecnologico de Monterrey Center for Sustainable Development. "This underscores the importance of entrepreneurship and social innovation as means to solving global problems of any kind," she concluded.

The annual CEMEX-Tec Award is focused on entrepreneurs and students who create high-impact proposals and projects in the field of sustainable development, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.

The two open categories are: Transforming Communities, aimed at teams of undergraduate and graduate students with proposals for the sustainable transformation of their local communities; and Social Entrepreneurs, aimed at entrepreneurs with projects that solve social problems and promote systemic change, with the potential to become a social business.

To participate, teams must register and upload their project on the CEMEX-Tec Center website %$Linker: 2 External <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary /> 0 0 0 link-external www.cdcs.com.mx Cemex website link false http://www.cdcs.com.mx/ false false%>, indicating the appropriate category for their proposals.
