6156 Cemex UK Materials has recently withdrawn a planning application to allow it to extract approximately 430,000tonnes of sand and gravel on land at Upper Strensham, county Worcestershire, England.
The application also sought the subsequent restoration of the land to agricultural use and woodland.
Confirming the withdrawal of the application to Worcestershire County Council, the minerals planning authority, Cemex UK Materials says it is intended that the site be promoted as a Preferred Area for minerals extraction in the current call for sites exercise being undertaken by the authority.
