The plants will add 25million tonnes to the cement company’s existing capacity of nearly 50 million tonnes.
The US$4.34 billion (€3.81 billion) deal will include setting up plants in Ethiopia, Niger, Kenya, Zambia, Ethiopia, Senegal, Cameroon, Mali and Nepal.
