Dangote to set up 16 cement plants in Africa

Nigeria-based Dangote is planning to set up 16 cement plants throughout Africa. The plants will be responsible for producing at least 80 million tonnes of cement, with 50% being produced in Nigeria. Aliko Dangote is the owner of Dangote Cement, and the hike in production comes as as the company expands outside its domestic market.

Nigeria-based 7635 Dangote is planning to set up 16 cement plants throughout Africa.

The plants will be responsible for producing at least 80 million tonnes of cement, with 50% being produced in Nigeria.

Aliko Dangote is the owner of Dangote Cement, and the hike in production comes as as the company expands outside its domestic market.

Dangote Cement is operating in nations including Senegal and South Africa, besides Nigeria, and recently it opened facilities in Zambia, Ethiopia and Cameroon.

In 2015 the company intends to start a new operation in Tanzania.

Dangote Cement's target is to increase installed capacity in the region outside Nigeria to the 40 million tonnes.
