The facility includes two mixing bays, a separate area for wet production, and a clean area for new product development. There are also plans to utilise the increased space for onsite customer training.
The development has sparked a recruitment drive within the company, which is now looking to increase its team of trainee concrete technicians to help fulfil the increased product demand.
Oscrete's technical and development manager, Dean Clarke, said: "Expanding our lab is a key objective following our move into independence at the start of 2022, so we are delighted to now have more capacity, increased product innovation and the resulting need to develop our team.
"We are a company committed to delivering and problem-solving for our customers, particularly during these exceptionally challenging times of supply chain disruption. But we're also committed to the future and development of all members of our staff and present every opportunity for growth and progression."
Oscrete is one of the UK's leading specialist construction chemical suppliers, manufacturing a comprehensive range of concrete admixtures for the pre-cast and ready-mix market and developing and supplying additives to manufacture dry bagged mortars and adhesives.
Clarke added: "Our concrete lab really is the nerve centre of our business – the place where mixing, trialling, sampling and experimenting on behalf of our customers brings their product and construction goals and visions to life. Since our relaunch in January, we now have more space to do the work we excel at – and with new team members soon to come on board, we're even further along the path to becoming the UK and Ireland's leading supplier of admixture and additive products."
