GEUS Copenhagen to host next meeting of European Marine Sand & Gravel Group (EMSAGG)

The Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) is hosting the European Marine Sand & Gravel Group’s (EMSAGG) next knowledge sharing workshop. The workshop will take place in the GEUS offices in Copenhagen from 10am to 1pm on Friday 22 March. The Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) is hosting the European Marine Sand & Gravel Group’s (EMSAGG) next knowledge sharing workshop. The workshop will take place in the GEUS offices in Copenhagen from 10am to 1pm on Friday 22 March.  

Speakers at the forthcoming EMSAGG event include Jørn Bo Jensen, PhD, head of GEUS Marine Geology department; Cees Laban, of Marine Geological Advice (chair, EMSAGG); Christian H Abildtrup, chief geologist NCC – materials and construction; Ilse Herpoelaert, FPS Economie, Brussels; Laura Addington, The Danish Environmental Protection Agency; and Nick Everington, The Crown Estate, UK. They will be covering topics including marine aggregate pricing in Northern Europe; regulation, marine sand and gravel extraction policy and licensing in Denmark; and an overview of the key issues and trends within the UK marine sand and gravel market.

Established in 1998 by European professionals, EMSAGG  - %$Linker: 2 External <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary /> 0 0 0 link-external www.ciria.org/emsagg false http://www.ciria.org/emsagg false false%> - is an independent body which draws together stakeholders including dredging organisations, European government departments and agencies, regulators, economists, resource planners and environmental and academic research bodies. Providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and learning across Europe, EMSAGG has hosted workshops and conferences in a number of European countries over the last two decades.
