RSSFrench cement giant Lafarge has signed an agreement to acquire SOCAM Development Limited’s 45% stake in Lafarge Shui On Cement for €294 million (HK$2,553 million), subject to the completion of its merger with 680 Holcim.
With a total cement production capacity of 32 million tonnes in Southwest China, in the provinces of
Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Chongqing, 725 Lafarge Shui On Cement is now set to become a wholly-
owned subsidiary of LafargeHolcim following completion of the merger project and this purchase.
This transaction is also subject to the approval of SOCAM shareholders.
