Murray Alston retires from British Aggregates Association

After seven years with the British Aggregates Association (BAA) Murray Alston has decided to retire. While already involved in his local Parish and Church Councils he wants to spend more time with his family and pursue his love for sports, mainly golf, tennis, squash and sailing. Over the past seven years Murray has represented the BAA on a number of Quarries National Joint Advisory Committee (QNJAC) Committees; two Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Partnership Schemes as well as being the BAA

Murray Alston: retiring from the BAA

After seven years with the 887 British Aggregates Association (BAA) Murray Alston has decided to retire.

While already involved in his local Parish and Church Councils he wants to spend more time with his family and pursue his love for sports, mainly golf, tennis, squash and sailing.

Over the past seven years Murray has represented the BAA on a number of Quarries National Joint Advisory Committee (QNJAC) Committees; two Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Partnership Schemes as well as being the BAA representative on the MPQC Council.

He has worked with work with the Associations Assessment of Operating Standards Scheme and has seen the scheme go from strength to strength with the majority of members now involved in it.

For the past 18 months he has been working on developing a first-rate database and new website which has just gone live. He has also worked closely with Peter Huxtable, BAA secretary, over the years in organising the annual meetings.

Murray Alston is hanbding over his day-to-day matters to Trefor Evans, and all health and safety matters (including the Assessment of Operating Standards Scheme) to Roy Bush.
