The GCCA received more than 10,000 entries from across the globe, from both amateur and professional photographers, across three different categories: urban design and use, infrastructure and concrete in daily life.
Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, competition entrants found ways to highlight the vital role that concrete plays in everyday life, with photos that showcase the many practical, beautiful and sustainable ways that the material is used around the world.
The judging panel will now convene to select one winner and one runner-up for both professional and amateur entries across each category. One overall winner for the “Best Concrete in Life” photo will also be awarded the $10,000 (USD) prize. The winners will be announced after judging finishes in early 2021.
The 2020 “Concrete in Life” judging panel is:

- Gian Luca Barone, Senior Associate of Zaha Hadid Architects
- Dinah McLeod, Chief Executive of the GCCA
