Tillicoultry Quarries finalises Breedon Group site purchases

Tillicoultry Quarries has finalised the purchase of 14 new site locations from the Breedon Group

The 14 sites include ten ready-mixed concrete plants in Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough, Whisby, King’s Lynn, Wisbech, Peterborough, Kidderminster, Costessey and Snetterton, an asphalt plant in Ely, two sand and gravel quarries, Collessie in Ladybank, Fife and Loanleven in Perth and a cement terminal in Dundee.

The acquisition of these new sites, following a successful review process by the Competition and Markets Authority, enhances Tillicoultry Quarries’ future reserves creating longevity for the business.

Following the acquisition of the 14 new sites, Tillicoultry Quarries plans to invest in the people, production and plant locations, creating a new management structure to ensure the success of the new locations and increasing the headcount beyond the 33 employees gained as part of the agreement.

We have the optimal infrastructure and an experienced team in place to ensure a seamless takeover, and we look forward to investing further in these locations and most importantly, in the new employees joining our business.”
