Vulcan acquires Californian aggregates producer

US construction aggregates producer Vulcan Materials has bought California-based Syar Industries.

Syar Industries mines, processes and sells a variety of rock, sand, and gravel products from each of its four Californian aggregate plants located in Healdsburg, Napa, Vallejo and Madison. 

Its products include asphalt mineral aggregate, facing stone, rip rap, chips, aggregate base, shoulder backing, PCC grade aggregates, sand and backfill. In addition, each of its locations accepts and processes broken asphalt and concrete for recycling into construction materials such as recycled aggregate base.

Syar said in a statement on its website: "We are excited about the Syar employees joining the Vulcan Family and look forward to continuing to build strong and lasting relationships with Syar customers and suppliers."
