US-based aggregates processing and asphalt roadbuilding equipment manufacturer Astec Industries is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The company was founded on August 9, 1972 by Dr. Don Brock, along with Norm Smith, Al Guth, Gail Mize and Mike Uchytil.
The Chattanooga, Tennessee-based operation has grown into a global manufacturer of more than 100 products for asphalt roadbuilding, aggregate processing and concrete production. It employs more than 4,000 people with sales and manufacturing operations located around the world.
The company recently announced plans for a US$5m factory expansion at its Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland site, to better serve growing market demands in the global mobile crushing and screening industry.
