Stevens Group has recently completed the acquisition of Lincom NZ (the New Zealand subsidiary of Lincom Group), and the transaction includes all machines and parts stock, as well as the sales rights to the brands, including Powerscreen that were represented by Lincom NZ.
Stevens Group is a third-generation family-owned business founded in 1974 importing, distributing, and manufacturing world-class machinery throughout New Zealand.
Ken Johnston, general manager of Stevens Group, says: "The purchase of the Lincom NZ business fits perfectly with our aspirations to grow our already successful machinery and equipment business into the quarry, mining, and recycling sectors. The two businesses share many synergies. Key to us is that we only represent world-class brands and have the right people with the right knowledge to best serve the customers. The purchase of Lincom NZ achieves both of these."
Lincom Group chief executive officer Stephen Watterson adds: "The acquisition of Lincom NZ by the Stevens Group strengthens their market offering and will position them as the market leader for crushing, screening and materials handling equipment in New Zealand. Both companies share a common vision, and the Stevens Group have some great growth plans in their business! This acquisition is part of their platform to expand into other developed markets."
Joe Cassidy, international sales director at Powerscreen, commented: “We are pleased to welcome Stevens Group to the Powerscreen family and look forward to a successful partnership. I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the Lincom team for their contribution to the Powerscreen brand in New Zealand over the last 15 years.”
