German company 1801 BHS-Sonthofen has acquired all shares in AVA,which is based in Herrsching in the Greater Munich areaof Germany.

As the product portfolios of the two companies complement each another perfectly, this move strengthens BHS-Sonthofen’s market position in the field of mixing technology. It furthermore supplements the company’s competence in the field of solid-liquid separation with AVA’s drying technology.

The owners of AVA decided to sell the family business as they wish to retire yet lack a successor. The parties agreed to keep the purchase price confidential. The Herrsching site will be retained, together with all AVA employees. Both companies will continue to operate in the marketplace under their own name.

AVA was founded by Helmut Huep in 1991 and managed by him and his wife Dagmar Huep until the present day.

“We have known BHS-Sonthofen for a long time and cooperated in joint projects on many occasions,” emphasised the previous owners of AVA.

“Therefore, BHS was our number one choice when we decided to sell our company. With them, we can rest assured that our company, employees and customers will be in good hands.”

AVA achieved significant sales growth over the past few years and is on sound financial footing.

“We feel honoured that AVA approached us with their offer to sell. We look forward to combining the product ranges of both companies, which will result in an even more comprehensive offering in all relevant markets,” says Dennis Kemmann, managing director of BHS-Sonthofen.

“Since a solid know-how in process engineering is particularly important for our consulting services, we also appreciate the infusion of competent employees at the Herrsching site.”

AVA’s product range includes horizontal and vertical mixers and dryers. In addition to mixing and drying, the solutions also cover processes including granulation, sterilization and reaction. Products made by AVA are utilised in a broad range of applications and across many industries (chemical, pharmaceutical, power plant technology, environmental technology, metallurgy, building materials, food and feed, and  cellulose).

The acquisition of AVA significantly enhances BHS-Sonthofen’s service portfolio and line capabilities, allowing the company to cover additional upstream and downstream process steps from this day forward.

BHS-Sonthofen says this will also greatly increase the number of system solutions can offer its customers. By integrating the services of AVA and BHS, the company will also increase its presence in various markets in the future.
