He replaces Jorge Wagner who becomes CEO of Votorantim Cimentos Europe, Asia and Africa.
Brazilian national Svaiter joined the Votorantim group in 2008. After leading the logistics area of the cement division for two years, he was appointed director of the Votorantim Brazil concrete business Engemix. In 2014 he became supply chain director of the cement group for the entire Brazilian market.
Svaiter qualified in production engineering at Pontifical University in Rio de Janeiro and has a master's degree from the INSEAD business school. He began his professional career by working for six years in logistics at the Ambev brewery. He then worked at mining company Vale for five years before moving to Votoramtim Cimentos.
Svaiter will lead a business of more than 500 people that comprises of four cement factories, two mills, 29 concrete plants, eight aggregate operations and one mortar planet.
Votorantim Cimentos supplies construction materials including cement, concrete, aggregates and mortars and has a presence in 12 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, India, Morocco, Peru, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, USA and Uruguay. The company has a cement production capacity of 52.8 million tonnes/year.
