The order also includes FLSmidth's downtime analysis solution, ECS/UptimeGo and access to the SiteConnect mobile plant management app.
Shree Cement is one of India's top three cement producers, with an installed capacity of 47.4 mtpy across India and the Middle East. Shree Cement says the digital upgrade is laying a foundation for turning data into actionable information that will optimise production lines, minimise equipment downtime, and improve productivity.
Digitalisation has been part of cement quality control for decades, but FLSmidth says that increased competition and environmental regulations have led more cement producers to build digital capabilities across the flowsheet to optimise production and improve operational management.
Carsten Riisberg Lund, cement industry president at FLSmidth, said that Shree Cement is taking a huge leap forward in its digital transformation, commenting: “The ECS/PlantDataManagement system gives operators critical, real-time data enabling them to track and monitor the performance and health of their sites. Its ability to improve energy efficiency and optimise production makes it part of our MissionZero offerings. With this investment, Shree Cement is safeguarding its production and responding to increased demands for sustainability.”
PN Chhangani, whole-time director of Shree Cement, comments: “FLSmidth is a trusted partner for us, as we demonstrated by the milling and pyro order, we announced last year. And we are confident that this next step in our digital transformation will prove to be profitable."
The benefits enabled by the FLSmidth ECS/PlantDataManagement, such as reduced energy consumption and increased efficiency, make the solution a flagship in FLSmidth’s MissionZero programme in Cement. MissionZero is the sustainability ambition to enable cement producers to run productions at zero emissions by 2030.
