CarbonCure enters collaboration on CO2 utilisation technologies

May 1, 2018

CarbonCure Technologies (CarbonCure) has joined forces with Airgas, an airliquide company, to enhance the cement and concrete industry customer experience of adopting carbon dioxide (CO2) utilisation technologies throughout the US Gulf Coast region. The turn-key offering, according to Robert Niven, CEO of CarbonCure, will help concrete producers realise new production and cost efficiencies while reducing concrete’s carbon footprint.

CarbonCure’s technology injects CO2 sourced from refineries of industrial emitters into concrete where it mineralises and provides additional strength. Airgas offers concrete producers a value-added CO2 supply and service solution, supported by its Gulf Coast distribution network.

Scott Koonce, Airgas vice president of bulk gas, said: “Airgas focuses on creating value for customers and acting responsibly to help preserve the environment by reducing atmospheric CO2 emissions. This collaboration between Airgas and CarbonCure will ensure that concrete producers across the Gulf Coast experience exceptional customer service as they adopt these impactful technologies.”
