Cemex has participated in the renovation of Manuel Ávila Camacho Boulevard in Veracruz, a tourist attraction in Mexico, to include new recreational spaces.
Cemex says the renovation has improved the area's pedestrian and traffic lighting and facilitated the flow of vehicles.
The company worked with the local government to design the work and placement of special products to renovate more than 13,000 m2 of sidewalks and 8,000 m3 of fittings, with approximately 10,900 m3 of concrete supplied for this important project.
Marble and limestone material were integrated to increase the durability and brightness of the concrete mix and help generate savings by reducing the project's execution times.
Antonio Cruz, CEO at Grupo Constructor de Jalapa, the company in charge of this project, says: "The 'before and after' of this project is very noticeable; the new plazas, trails, and sidewalks have drawn people back to the boulevard, moving calmly and securely."
The speical concrete complies with the local administration's required guidelines and specifications such as preserving aesthetic finishes, reducing execution times, and making installation more efficient.
