Cemex to supply concrete and aggregates for LA bridge

June 18, 2019

Cemex is expected to supply approximately 34,400 cubic metres of ready-mix concrete for the Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement project, valued around $482 million.

The company will also supply 4,800 cubic meters (6,300 cubic yards) of Evolution, a range of specialised self-consolidating concrete technology for the 3,500-foot bridge.

Cemex’s Los Angeles Ready Mix Plant will deliver the concrete for the project while its operations in Victorville will be responsible for providing 67,000 tonnes of aggregates.

Bryan Forgey, Cemex USA general manager ready-mix southern California, says: “The Sixth Street Viaduct is one of the memorable landmarks in Los Angeles, and Cemex is proud to help give it a much-needed update.”

The bridge is expected to be completed in late 2020.
